management.
Managing software and hardware assets
SmartIT offers automatic collection of software and hardware asset to save inventory time, determine the numbers and specification of assets, and safeguard asset devices.
Hardware Asset Inventory
The system will automatically collect network software and hardware configuration information to ensure equipment integrity and the gathering of the latest information, as well as real-time control of abnormal movement and abnormal status changes of equipment. The purposes are to avoid the risk of missing equipment assets and to save inventory time by efficiently producing asset inventory reports. IT personnel can then quickly submit reports to administrative executives to serve as the basis of annual budget planning and phasing out obsolete equipment. The hardware information needed to be gathered includes: motherboards, Bluetooth, infrared, CPU, memories, hard drive type and capacity, network adapters, optical drives, floppy drives, monitors, and computers’ IP and MAC addresses, etc. It can also streamline the management on Thin Client and conduct status checks on agents, login date and time, account, domain, computer name, IP address, screen display setting, etc.
Overdue Audit List
Based on actual asset usage status, SmartIT can set up overdue audit criteria such as: when a certain user has not logged into the corporate intranet through a certain computer for 15 days, that computer will automatically be placed on the audit list. This is to remind IT Administrators to take note of the asset usage status to avoid idleness and repeat procurement that would cause overhead wastage and risk of capital losses, and take full advantage of investment returns of assets.
